Adolescent Wellness Academy is seeking a specialized Group Facilitator to lead eating disorder-focused therapy groups for adolescents in our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). This role is ideal for a clinician passionate about structured, evidence-based group therapy in the treatment of eating disorders.
🔹 Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate Therapeutic Groups: Lead one to two eating disorder-focused groups per week, incorporating evidence-based techniques such as CBT-E, DBT, ACT, and Family-Based Treatment (FBT).
- Provide Psychoeducation: Guide adolescents through discussions on body image, emotional regulation, self-esteem, food-related anxiety, and coping strategies.
- Meal & Food Exposure Therapy (if applicable): Support participants in meal processing and exposure activities to normalize eating behaviors and reduce fear foods.
- Encourage Peer Support & Recovery-Oriented Discussions: Foster a safe, non-judgmental group environment that promotes healing, empowerment, and accountability.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Team: Provide updates to therapists, dietitians, and medical staff on group dynamics and individual progress.
- Maintain Clinical Documentation: Complete brief progress notes on group participation and client engagement.
🔹 What We’re Looking For:
✔ Licensed Clinician in Florida (LMHC, LCSW, LMFT) OR Master’s-level therapist actively pursuing licensure with direct eating disorder treatment experience.
✔ Preferred Certifications: Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) through IAEDP, training in Family-Based Treatment (FBT) or CBT-E for eating disorders.
✔ Group Therapy Experience: Prior experience facilitating groups in PHP, IOP, or residential eating disorder settings.
✔ Expertise in Eating Disorder Interventions: Familiarity with CBT-E, DBT for eating disorders, ACT, Intuitive Eating, and trauma-informed care.
✔ Health at Every Size (HAES) & Non-Diet Approach: Committed to a weight-inclusive, compassionate, and recovery-oriented treatment model.
✔ Ability to Engage Adolescents: Skilled in creating an interactive, supportive, and structured group therapy environment tailored to teens.
