Duties
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Help with mobility and transfers to ensure safety and comfort.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
- Prepare meals and assist with dietary needs as instructed.
- Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean living environment.
- Monitor client health by observing changes in condition and reporting concerns to healthcare professionals.
- Assist clients with medication reminders and adherence to prescribed routines.
- Maintain confidentiality of client information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support clients with dementia care, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
Experience
- Previous experience in senior care, home health, or assisted living environments is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of CPR techniques is beneficial for ensuring client safety.
- Familiarity with caregiving practices, including those related to nursing home settings, is a plus.
- Understanding of dementia care principles will enhance the quality of support provided.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients are essential for success in this role.
