A licensed practical nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care in various settings. This position involves performing nursing procedures within the scope of LPN practice, collaborating with registered nurses (RNs), and ensuring the well-being of patients and their families.
**Key Responsibilities**
• Administer medications as prescribed by physicians and instructed by RNs
• Monitor and record patient vital signs, intake, and output, reporting significant changes immediately
• Provide education to patients and family members according to care plans outlined by RNs
• Conduct observations and assessments, recording physical and mental condition changes
• Participate in staff meetings, in-service education programs, and other training sessions as assigned
**Qualifications and Skills**
To succeed in this role, you will need:
• Active LPN license in good standing
• Current CPR certification
• Previous experience in home health, private duty, skilled nursing, or hospital settings (preferable)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and family members
• Reliable transportation or valid driver's license with current automobile insurance
