- Provide direct physical therapy according to directions of physical therapist and in accordance with the physician’s plan of care
- Direct and aid patient in active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle reeducation, gait and functional training, transfer activities and prosthetic training
- Utilize physical agents, including heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound and massage
- Instruct in use of wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, and prosthetic or orthotic devices
- Observe and report to the physical therapist the patient’s reaction to treatment and any changes in condition
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal legal and regulatory requirements
- Additional responsibilities as assigned
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program approved by the CAPTE with current licensure to practice in state of operation
- 1 year PTA experience
- Home health experience preferred
- Commitment to clinical and documentation excellence
