Serve as a Business Analysts for projects, applications and technologies within Protection New Business and Underwriting. Directly support the overall Underwriting organization with a focus on our Platform Modernization. Role includes gathering, synthesizing and documenting business requirements, rules configurations and UAT testing requirements. Underwriting platform experience. Must be able to work in a dynamic, matrixed organization, bringing together the perspectives of many and the End-to-End requirements across the customer experience for business sign-off and implementation.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 7 years’ experience supporting projects and driving execution of complex technical work
- Business Analyst experience for Underwriting systems
- Understanding of Waterfall and Agile processes and documentation
- Strong requirements documentation skills
- Ability to drill down from the big picture to process details
- Ability to think strategically
- Ability to collaborate across diverse teams and organizations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Individual who enjoys solving complex problems and improving team processes
- Life underwriting knowledge
- Exposure to customer experience/user experience practices
- Proven ability to partner with cross-functional teams to design, configure, test, and deploy
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing business priorities
- Experience with additional requirements tools including JIRA and Confluence
As a Business Analyst, you will drive translating business needs into the requirements for Processes and Technology to execute on supporting our customer and employee experiences. To be successful, you will:
- Document business requirements with detailed technical specifications
- Understand process flows and ensure interconnectivity of systems and applications
- Act as a liaison between Underwriting and other teams and advocate for necessary changes
- Translate customer and employee needs into documented, actionable solutions with clear measurement mechanisms in service of business outcomes
- Provide proper documentation for the Product team to prioritize features and enhancements against a prioritization framework
- Support Business owner, Product Manager and peers to align requirements to roadmaps
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve business processes by maintaining a strong knowledge of available and upcoming features delivered by external vendors
- Update procedural and processes changes
- Ensure development outputs meet business expectations by maintaining strong cross-functional relationships with technical and architecture teams
- Keep change management principles in mind, to work with the team to establish launch readiness in response to system and process updates
- Work independently and with management on highly visible, divisional/cross-divisional complex products and projects
- Be sought as a key resource for documentation of unique or complex business problems
- Drive continuous improvement and efficiencies beyond own scope of responsibility
