SAP ABAP

Role Overview:

An SAP ABAP Solution Architect is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing SAP ABAP solutions to support business processes and technical requirements. This role involves collaborating with functional teams, guiding ABAP developers, and ensuring that custom developments align with SAP best practices and system architecture standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Solution Design & Architecture: Design and architect scalable, efficient, and high-performing ABAP solutions that integrate seamlessly with SAP and non-SAP systems.
• Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance to ABAP developers, ensuring adherence to SAP coding standards and best practices.
• SAP S/4HANA Migration & Optimization: Support and lead the transition of ABAP custom developments from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA, optimizing performance and leveraging new features such as CDS Views, AMDP, and SAP Fiori.
• Custom Development & Enhancements: Oversee and develop ABAP programs, including reports, interfaces, enhancements, forms, and workflows.
• Integration & API Management: Design and implement interfaces using OData, REST, SOAP, BAPIs, and RFCs to integrate SAP with third-party systems.
• Performance Tuning & Code Review: Conduct performance analysis and optimization of ABAP code to ensure system efficiency.
• SAP Fiori & UI5 Development: Collaborate with front-end teams to design SAP Fiori applications, ensuring a seamless user experience.
• Quality & Compliance: Ensure compliance with SAP security and governance standards, including GDPR, SOX, and SAP GRC policies.
• Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Work closely with functional consultants, business stakeholders, and project managers to deliver end-to-end SAP solutions.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Experience: 10 years of SAP ABAP development experience, with at least 3 years as an ABAP Architect or Technical Lead.
• SAP S/4HANA Expertise: Strong knowledge of S/4HANA architecture, ABAP Restful Programming (RAP), Core Data Services (CDS), and AMDP.
• Object-Oriented ABAP (OOABAP): Proficiency in developing modular, scalable, and reusable ABAP objects.
• SAP Integration: Experience with SAP Gateway, OData services, IDocs, BAPIs, and middleware tools such as SAP PI/PO or CPI.
• Fiori/UI5 Development: Understanding of SAP Fiori/UI5 development and integration with ABAP back-end services.
• Performance Optimization: Expertise in SQL performance tuning, debugging, and analyzing runtime issues.
• Code Quality & Security: Familiarity with SAP Code Inspector, ATC checks, and secure coding practices.
• Technical Documentation: Strong skills in creating technical specifications, solution design documents, and architecture blueprints.

Preferred Qualifications:

• SAP Certifications in ABAP on HANA, SAP S/4HANA Development, or related fields.
• Experience with SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) and ABAP Cloud Development.
• Knowledge of DevOps methodologies, including CI/CD for SAP developments.
• Hands-on experience with SAP Business Workflow and Adobe Forms.
