What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Cheer Coach position at Adrian College?
Position Title: Assistant Cheer Coach
Work Schedule: Full-time, 11 month position; includes a stipend, housing and utilities, meal plan, and medical coverage; evening/weekend work and travel are required
Example of Duties:
This position involves frequent verbal, written, and email correspondence with students, parents, faculty and staff. The successful candidate will:
- Assist the Head Coach with all aspects of coaching, program and team management, and planning and execution of practices for the sideline cheer and competitive cheer teams.
- Recruit prospective student athletes for both teams.
- Adhere to and ensure compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and/or the Athletic Director
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years of coaching experience or extensive cheer background
- Proficiency in basic computer skills
- Must be able to perform duties within the normal bounds of an office environment as well as stand for long periods of time. Must also be able to jump, bend, squat, and demonstrate a variety of techniques to student athletes.

Desired Qualifications:
Previous All-Star Cheer experience is preferred. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is able to work independently and collectively w/head coach, has excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (orally and in writing) and will be someone who is able to interpret, apply and comply with all NCAA Division III rules and regulations.
