Position Overview:
Adriel Hills Condominium Association is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Golf Course Technician to oversee the maintenance and care of our 6-hole par 3 golf course. This role offers an opportunity to take ownership of all aspects of golf course upkeep, ensuring exceptional playing conditions for members and guests. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in golf course maintenance, a strong understanding of greens applications, and a self-sufficient work ethic. A degree in Golf Course Management or Turfgrass Science is preferred. This position is critical to maintaining the course’s reputation for quality and aesthetics, requiring both technical expertise and a passion for the game of golf.
Qualifications:
Education: Degree or certification in Golf Course Management, Turfgrass Science, Horticulture, or a related field (preferred).
Experience: Substantial experience in golf course maintenance, with a solid understanding of greens care and turf management. A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience is preferred.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in golf course maintenance equipment operation, including mowers, aerators, and sprayers. Strong understanding of irrigation systems and turf health diagnostics.
Self-Sufficiency: Must be a motivated, independent worker with the ability to manage time and resources effectively.
Knowledge of Turf Care: Advanced knowledge of soil science, turfgrass varieties, fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides. Experience with greens management applications is essential.
Physical Ability: Must be able to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs and working in various outdoor conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cut and maintain greens, tees, collars, fairways, and roughs on a regular, set schedule.
- Perform greens and tees applications of fertilizer, fungicide, and surfactant to maintain optimal turf health.
- Oversee irrigation of the golf course, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining systems.
- Manicure edges of the course and maintain obstacles within the playing area to ensure aesthetic appeal.
- Maintain course accessories such as trashcans, sand traps, ball washers, and other features.
- Manage inventory of golf course materials, including chemicals, accessories, tools, and mechanical parts.
- Operate and maintain common golf course machinery, specifically Greensmaster 1000, Toro 3100, Toro 3500, John Deere Tractor, Toro Sidewinder, and golf carts.
- Execute biannual aerification to enhance turf quality and playability.
- Implement and manage pest control measures to protect the course from damage.
- Occasionally assist team members with maintenance tasks on the residential side of the property.
Working Conditions:
Hours: Full-time position to accommodate the needs of the course. Occasional weekend and holiday work may be required. Year-round position, winter hours flexible.
