Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing services department. In this key leadership role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of care, managing nursing staff, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. You will work closely with the facility’s administration to develop and implement effective policies that guarantee excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate nursing services and care programs.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
- Oversee nursing staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
- Maintain a positive work environment, fostering teamwork and excellence in resident care.
- Develop and maintain nursing care plans for residents, ensuring individualized and high-quality care.
- Manage departmental budgets and supply needs.
- Participate in facility committees and collaborate with other departments to ensure a smooth operation.
- Address resident grievances and ensure compliance with HIPAA and residents' rights regulations.
Qualifications:
- Current, active, and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a hospital or long-term care facility.
- Experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently in decision-making.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time, day shift with flexibility to work beyond regular hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call duties.
- Physical requirements include occasional lifting of residents or equipment (up to 45 lbs).
