Direct Support Professional

Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to provide support to individuals with Intellectual Disabilities. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our individuals by assisting them in daily activities and promoting their independence. The ideal candidate will be patient, empathetic, and committed to fostering a supportive environment.

Duties

• Support individuals through tailored engagement strategies that promote social interaction and communication.
• Facilitate activities that encourage socialization, skill development, and community involvement.
• Document progress and report any changes in behavior or health status to the appropriate personnel.
• Some travel is required- reliable transportation, valid drivers license, & automotive insurance/registration.
• Must be over the age of eighteen.
• Must pass a background check.

Skills

• Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.

Please note that desirable candidates should be available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with additional availability on Saturdays as needed. However, this schedule is negotiable for the right candidate.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
