Our adult day services serves as a medical model approach. Furthermore, we believe that with a quality program of education, health monitoring and therapeutic activities in conjunction with a supportive and caring team of professional employees, objective of “keeping the elderly and individuals independent” can be realized.
We are seeking a for a high energy, self directed Therapeutic Recreational Assistant to work at our adult day program with elders and or disabled adults.
Adult Day Care Center experience preferred but not necessary. If you are looking for a change from longterm setting and becoming a part of the socialization and wellness of elders in this is a great opportunity for you. You will find work-life balance and your scheduled hours will be 8:30 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday. This is a fun environment and we focus on providing the best care and services to our clients and families.
Responsibilities:
- Create, implement, lead and adapt activities to ensure participants have a positive experience in group and individual activities
- Works in conjunction with other Recreation Therapist in planning, organizing, directing, and leading therapeutic activities for participants in large and small groups
- Adapts activities to ensure that individual participants are successful in programs.
- Assists in the development of monthly activities calendar and daily activities schedule, ensuring schedule is posted.
- Documents daily attendance and notes progress and decline in program involvement by particpants.
- Assists with the purchase, organization, and storage of recreational supplies.
- Collaborates with Personal Care Assistants assigned to activities and assists with personal care needs as needed to promote the safety and comfort of participants.
- Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures
Skills:
Excellent written communication, interpersonal, time management, planning & organizational skills.
Must be coachable and willing to work with our vision and the agencies core competencies.
Strong customer service skills, utilize good judgment and discretion in handling confidential information, high energy and enthusiastic to work with elderly population.
Performs routine duties in caring for clients.
Keeps all client information confidential in accordance with policies, H. I. P. A. A. regulations.
