Responsibilities:
- Supervision of the facility
- Operation of the facility in compliance with the law and regulations
- Recruitment of staff and volunteers
- Admission, transfer and discharge of residents
- Coordination and development of community activities and services for residents
- Maintenance of community relations
- Protection of residents rights and development of appropriate mechanisms for their protection
- On duty during the day for at least 40 hours per week
- Supervise personal care program as required by the resident’s of the resident care unit
- Evaluates resident service personnel and carries out appropriate actions
- Orients resident service personnel to personnel policies and procedures
- Coordinates services provided to residents
- Appraises Owner of program development needs
- Maintains records of admittance, history, discharge and essential statistics of residents; conducts correspondence and submits a variety of reports
- Makes referrals and appointments with various professions as required by the residents
- Requisitions supplies as needed
- Coordinates services offered by other departments
- Investigates and reports incidents and accidents
- Chairs various committees
- Attends in-service educational programs as necessary for continued certification as Administrator
- Performs other duties assigned
- Will assume the role of RN Supervisor/Case Manager as per job description in the absents of RN Supervisor and daily as needed.
- Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalence certificate, plus four years of related work experience acceptable to the New York State Department of Health, two years of which includes related supervisory experience; or
- An associate degree from an accredited college or university in an approved course of study, plus three years of related work acceptable to the Department of Health, one year which includes related supervisory experience; or
- A bachelor degree from an accredited college or university in an approved course of study, plus two years of related work experience acceptable by the Department of Health, one year of which includes related supervisory experience.
- Ability to establish and monitor effective relationships with residents
- Ability to interface with professional and non-professional personnel management
- Effective oral and written communication.
