What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Professional Counselor position at Adult & Teen Challenge AR?
Provides individual and group psychotherapy services to male and female clients. As a member of a multidisciplinary team, collaborates with medical providers through clinical consultations. Additionally, delivers brief and crisis interventions as needed. Licensed Professional Counselor reports to the Clinical Director.
Qualifications:
- Must meet licensed counselor accreditation standards and have documentation proving this.
- Must have a Master’s degree.
- Must have and maintain a valid state ID- to navigate and use the company EHR.
- Must be able to pass drug and nicotine test
- Hold/Receive required certifications within the predetermined time limits established by the State of Arkansas.

- Physically able to walk, stand, and stoop for several hours each day.

Responsibilities:
- Complete the specifically designed trainings and pass the written examination required for certification.
- Identify and provide crisis services as necessary.
- Ensures that all progress notes relating to client intervention reflect Treatment Plan goals and objectives and current diagnosis.
- Uses the Master Treatment Plan to develop activities to use with clients approved for OBHS services. May provide on-site and off-site intervention to clients.
- Participates in Agency-wide training programs/in-services.
- Follows all HIPAA regulations. Is familiar with the company’s policies and procedures and guidelines including all safety protocols and rules for facility.
- Reports to work dressed appropriately and complies with established company policies regarding dress code.
- Ensures confidentiality of client and employee information and responds to internal and external information according to company policy.
- Assists in overcoming barriers to treatment of clients.
- Provides professionally appropriate transportation as necessary to accomplish treatment goals.
- Makes necessary referrals and serves as liaison with other agencies.
- Provides timely documentation to support services rendered and provides written reports as required by other agencies (i.e. DCFS, legal system, etc.).
- Ensures client’s attendance to initial medication evaluation and subsequent medication appointments.
- Models’ stability for client and family with regular sessions.
- Empower clients to improve day to day functionality, reducing stressors and increasing ability to focus on treatment goals.
- Encourages client compliance with the established treatment plan.
- Monitors/reports client behavior in all environments.
- Attends all required clinic meetings.
- Ensures that all progress notes relating to client intervention reflect Treatment Plan goals and objectives and current diagnosis.
- Monitors treatment plan follow-up, services to clients, and overall conditions in the facility.
- Other duties as assigned.
Salary : $50,000 - $65,000
