We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Substance Use Therapist to join our team and contribute to our goal of transforming lives through faith-centered care.
Job Summary:
As a Substance Use Therapist at Adult and Teen Challenge Massachusetts, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality therapeutic services to clients experiencing substance use disorders. You will work closely with individuals to assess their needs, develop tailored treatment plans, and provide ongoing support and counseling, incorporating faith-based principles and practices into the recovery process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of clients to determine the severity of substance use issues and co-occurring mental health conditions.
- Develop individualized treatment plans that incorporate both evidence-based practices and faith-based elements, addressing the unique needs and spiritual aspects of each client.
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions, integrating spiritual guidance and faith-based support where appropriate.
- Monitor and document client progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed to meet evolving needs and goals, while incorporating faith-based perspectives.
- Educate clients and their families about substance use disorders, treatment options, coping strategies, and the role of faith in the recovery process.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
- Stay current with best practices and advancements in the field of substance use treatment through ongoing professional development.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Certification in substance use counseling (e.g., CADC, CAC) preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience providing therapy in a behavioral health setting or substance use treatment setting, serving culturally diverse populations.
- Experience in faith-based counseling preferred.
- Strong understanding of substance use disorders, co-occurring mental health conditions, and evidence-based treatment modalities.
- Knowledge and respect for faith-based approaches to healing and recovery.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and other relevant software.
- Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and adhering to ethical guidelines.
