Job Overview
Main Responsibilities
This role ensures the highest level of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) compliance and achieves Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) accreditation for assigned distribution centers (DCs).
- Establish and maintain a strong product safety culture within DC leadership, driving continuous improvement opportunities across functions to enhance GFSI requirements compliance.
- Develop and implement campus food safety and quality programs to maintain annual GFSI accreditation.
- Manage existing food safety and quality programs, emerging priorities across entire campuses (warehouses, transportation, reclaim, etc.).
- Design and implement effective food safety and quality training programs to ensure governmental compliance.
- Train and educate associates and management on food safety and quality best practices.
Sanitation and Pest Control Oversight
This role is accountable for end-to-end sanitation and pest control program controls, monitoring effectiveness, verifications, and recordkeeping accuracy for:
- Sanitation Teams
- Master Sanitation Schedules
- Trailer Sanitation
- Pest Control Organization (PCO) Relationships
- Reclaim Programs
Accountability:
- Conduct regular facility audits to ensure General Food Safety (GFSI) compliance.
- Lead annual compliance with GFSI requirements and facilitate recertification audits.
- Collaborate with internal and external business partners at various organizational levels.
- Develop and deliver training for associates and management on Food Safety and Environmental topics.
- Maintain and coordinate campus food defense programs.
- Ongoing food safety or quality responsibilities as assigned.
Daily Activities
- Foster Personal Hygiene Practices
- Coordinate Building and Grounds Maintenance Poor Conditions
- Sanitize Buildings, Trailers, and Compactors
- Oversee Pest Control Management & Documentation
- Deliver Food Safety Training: New Hires and Sanitary Transportation for Drivers
Monthly Tasks
- Conduct Warehouse GMP Audits
- Implement Corrective Actions for GMP Findings
- Verify Monthly Sanitation Procedures
- Manage Document Control: GFSI/IFS Binders, QA, Recalls, Calibration Records, COAs, Supplier/Vendor Surveys, Work Orders
Yearly Accountabilities
- Execute Assigned GFSI Internal Audits
- Lead GFSI Re-Certification Audit for Relevant DC
- Closure of GFSI/NSF Corrective Actions
- Annual GMP Refresher Training
- Host Food Defense/Food Fraud Exercises
- Act as CFPM Instructor/Proctor as Required
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Five years of related work experience.
- Strong coaching, training, and motivational skills: ability to lead.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver's license.
- Achieves GFSI certification.
- Maintains food manager certification.
- Achieve FSMA Preventative Controls for Human Food Accreditation.
