Job Description
This position manages a team to supply auto parts and accessories to Advance Auto Parts store locations in the New England area, with a base of operations in Enfield, CT.
Inventory Managers are responsible for inventory control cycle counting, auditing, and problem solving all inventory issues which allow for building wide accurate inventory assets. Responsible for driving service, safety, people and productivity objectives for their department. Manages a team of about 20 inventory control workers in the warehouse across several shifts.
Pay Range: $80k - $100k base, depending on experience, education, and qualifications. 10% target annual bonus. Full range of insurances and benefits, to include matching 401(k) after 1 year of service. Generous "Flex Time" PTO.
This is an onsite, generally Monday through Friday position. Some travel to stores and other regional Distribution Centers may be required from time to time.
Job Expectations:
Regularly meet with the General Manager to discuss and review work methods, procedures, and controls, and staffing to achieve accurate and timely movement of product, recommend alternative solutions as necessary; actively participate in conference calls as needed and maintain strong presence in work location to assist and resolve issues as required
Direct responsibility for the Inventory Control department 20 Team Members, including budgeting, P&L, and staffing
Partner with the GM and to drive continuous improvement and maximize efficiency gains to reduce overall costs; maintain a strong working relationship with management team and other related corporate partners; and regularly communicate with the facility management on issues that arise and be able to react as required
Coach, train, and develop Team Members, providing both informal (e.g. on-floor coaching) and formal (e.g. written evaluation) job perormance based feedback.
Conduct start-up meetings to discuss daily results, directives/workloads, staffing needs, schedules, safety/housekeeping issues, and work assignments
Consistently monitor all safety procedures and ensure that all corresponding personal protection equipment (PPE) is utilized
Maintain and develop building slotting and profile plan in partnership with Ops Managers to drive efficiency and workflow through the Inbound and Outbound functions. Ability to pivot and change plans based on freight mix changes and direction to improve efficiency and quality throughout the building.
Preferred Experience:
5 years prior leadership experience in a position that focused on inventory management and control.
Previous work experience in a warehouse or distribution center including material handling, inventory tracking, and providing work direction to other teammates.
Preferred Education:
Associate Degree, or equivalent experience.
Bi-lingual (Spanish) ability highly desired.
