What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping and Production Assistant position at Advance CNC Machining?
We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping & Production Assistant (M-F 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.) to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that our shipping and production processes run smoothly and efficiently. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate shipments by assessing the necessary packaging and shipping methods
- Properly package and ship items to avoid damage
- Operate forklifts safely, following all safety protocols and regulations
- Assist in managing inventory by moving goods to and from storage areas, loading and unloading trucks, and performing regular inventory checks (counting)
- Assess and organize incoming deliveries
- Maintaining a sufficient supply of shipping materials
- Prepare shipping documentation
- Assist with tasks related to machine maintenance, such as air filter changes
- Assist with post-machining part production, such as part washing, deburring, laser marking, and counting
- Help maintain a clean and organized workspace, including proper storage of materials and equipment, taking out companywide trash, cleaning production shop floor etc.
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or equivalent
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Minimum of 1 year experience operating a forklift
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with an insurable record
- Introductory blueprint reading and hand-tool skills
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills
- Experience working in a machine shop or similar manufacturing environment Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong basic math skills
- Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
COMPENSATION PACKAGE INCLUDES
- 80 hours paid time off your first year and 128 hours your second year. Get an additional 8 PTO hours each year (up to a maximum of 200 hours per year)
