What are the responsibilities and job description for the PPAP Coordinator position at Advance Engineering?
Summary
The PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) Coordinator is responsible for ensuring customer and company quality requirements are met. This will include preparation and review of PPAP documentation, responding to customer requirements for any customer mandated quality initiatives related to PPAP process, and interacting with Lab, Engineering, Production and customers as needed. May perform other duties as assigned by Quality Manager.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Establish and maintain PPAP documentation including Control Plans, FMEA’s, FD, IMDS, and conduct gauge studies as necessary.
- Updates and maintains PPAP log in an accurate and timely manner
- Ensure Quality alerts are active, working, and being adhered to.
- Ensure Quality System integrity by direct involvement with APQP and PPAP activities.
- Will be expected to work closely with Engineering to assure all Quality procedures/requirements are met and maintained.
- Ensure procedures, work instructions, SOP Boards, 1st Piece sheets, and general practices are active, working, and being adhered to.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-year degree or equivalent experience in Quality, preferred
- 2-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred
- Lean Manufacturing training and/or experience
- Stamping plant experience preferred.
- Experience in IATF or a similar standard is mandatory.
- SPC background preferred.
- Blueprint reading skills.
- Proficient in computer applications (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, Minitab & ERP software, preferably Plex).
- Ability to effectively communicate in English verbally and written.
Working conditions
- Job holder works in a production plant environment and could be exposed to various levels of noise coming from several different types of production machinery.
- Steel-toed boots required due to exposure to heavy objects and sharp-edged materials.
Physical requirements
- Ability to lift routinely up to 20 lbs. and occasionally up to 40 lbs.
- Must have good vision at 20 inches or less (close vision).
- Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, push, and pull and reach and use fingers, hands and arms (dexterity).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
