What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Grower - Maintenance position at Advance HOA Management, Inc.?
FUNCTION AND ROLE: Head Grower is responsible for planning, seed bed preparation, seeding, and fertilizing the farm fields in Raindance and Poudre Tech Metropolitan Districts. This position works with other full time staff to ensure productive farm fields and orchards. The Head Grower will actively support community values, vision and philosophies, while demonstrating a style of leadership that allows residents’ needs to be met with a high level of satisfaction.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Head Grower will lead seasonal workers and train seasonal staff and volunteers in all areas of farm and orchard operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Maintenance
- Plan and implement farm and orchard activities.
- Develop and follow SOPs.
- Solicit and coordinate volunteers.
- Plant replacement street and park trees.
- Prep and seed farm fields.
- Perform maintenance to open space and parks.
- Grow transplants and prepare them for field planting.
- Ensure that all procedures are being adhered to for vendors, contractors, service requests, and maintenance form logs.
- During the off season, assist the maintenance staff with pruning, maintain the storm water system, and operate equipment.
- Safety – insure compliance with all relative health and safety regulations.
Management
- Acquire and maintain a full working knowledge of all applicable State and Federal Regulation pertaining to farm and orchard operations.
- Attend all appropriate Advance HOA Management training classes, meetings and seminars as requested.
- At all times, conduct oneself in a professional, helpful, knowledgeable manner, so as to convey utmost professionalism.
Administrative and Fiscal
- Plan farm and orchard activities in accordance with approved budget.

- Provide written disclosure of any compensation, gratuity, or other form of remuneration from individuals or companies who act or may act on behalf of the client.
- Conduct self in a professional manner at all times when acting in the scope of their employment with Advance HOA Management, Inc.

REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience
- Associates Degree in a horticulture related field or other equivalent experience. B.S. preferred
- Minimum 3-years-experience farming management, greenhouse production, or landscape management
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Plant propagation and seeding experience
- Experience with field planting
- Tractor and farm implement experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Innovation and problem recognition and resolution abilities
- Ability to think critically and make independent decisions based on sound judgment
- Demonstrate positive and professional demeanor
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
Working Conditions
- In person.
- In addition to regular business hours, this position may require extended hours at night and/or weekends to travel and attend meetings, activities and events.
- This position will primarily work in the outdoor environment.
- Available for weekend hours as needed.
Job Duties May be Modified as Needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $32.00 - $34.50 per hour
