Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Office Assistant to join our team. The Medical Office Assistant will provide administrative support and assist in delivering quality patient care. This is a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office.
Duties:
- Scheduling: Manage patient appointments, ensuring that the schedule is up to date and accommodating any urgent care requirements.
- Medical Records Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, either in paper form or electronically, ensuring confidentiality.
- Billing and Coding: Assist with billing, coding, and insurance claims as needed.
- Filing and Organizing: Organize and file patient charts and reports for easy access by medical staff.
- Patient Communication: Handle patient inquiries by phone or in person, providing information.
- Assist with patient registration, insurance verification, and billing processes.
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a warm and welcoming environment
- Handle phone calls, inquiries, and correspondence in a professional manner

Clinical Duties:
- Patient Preparation: Prepare patients for exams by taking medical histories, measuring vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, weight, temperature).
- Sample Collection: Assist with lab tests by collecting blood, urine, and other samples.
- Assisting with Procedures: Help physicians during examinations and medical procedures, preparing equipment and instruments as needed.
- Administering Injections: Administer medications as directed by a physician, including vaccines and injections.
- Sterilization and Equipment Maintenance: Ensure medical instruments and equipment are sanitized and in working order.
- Patient Education: Provide patients with instructions for medications, treatments, and follow-up care.
Other:
- Inventory Management: Monitor and reorder medical supplies and equipment.
- PFT
- Cleaning and Disinfection: Ensure the cleanliness of exam rooms, equipment, and general office areas.
- Team Collaboration: Work alongside physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth office operations and quality patient care.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology
- Excellent patient service skills with a caring and empathetic approach
- Proficient in taking accurate vital signs and documenting patient information
- Familiarity with medical office procedures and protocols
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical office assistant program is preferred
- Previous experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting is an asset
- Basic life support certification is desirable
