Essential Job Responsibilities:

Meet and greet the patients upon arrival, using Mr/Mrs/Ms with sir name if known. Good eye contact and smiling while welcoming them to the office.

Verification of current insurance and demographics information and contact numbers to include billing address, cell and home number and email address entered correctly and verified at each visit.

Review of existing account for outstanding debit/credit balances, explain if there is a balance and provide supporting documentation if needed on the balances. Collect all outstanding balances before visit. If credit on account ensure check out is alerted to apply credit.

Ensure patients are arrived and moved to clinical staff in order of appointment time and or arrival time for walk in patients, keep track of patients in waiting room to ensure everyone is handled in an organized and timely manner.

Assist all new patients with all patient paper work in English or Spanish ensure that upon completion all information is entered accurately to prevent delays in visit. Verify benefits after clarifying the reason for the visit so verification is accurately done and entered into EHS for check out.

Clearly explain financial responsibility with attention to detail and accuracy. Patients have to understand the costs and it must be presented in a professional and reassuring but direct way. Payment is expected at time of service.

Scan all reception related documents into EHR by days end.

Professionally manage the flow of the front desk to include inquiries, appointments walk in and scheduled, be accurate in the information you are providing and always thank them for their patience.

Provide suggestions and feedback to improve the level of customer service provided.

Routes calls appropriately, offering voice mail, paging, or redirection of calls as needed. Schedule appointments accurately and correctly. Take messages as needed for other staff members. Always handle the patient in person first, then assist with phones promptly.

Keep reception area and waiting rooms clean, organized and customer friendly. Offer water to visitors or patients waiting extended periods. Monitor supplies, garbage and magazine and organize, and throw away soliciting materials from external vendors. Ensure children are well monitored in waiting room and report issues as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: One year of experience in customer service or reception, preferably in a health care environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
