Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Farm Manager to oversee daily operations on an Angus cow operation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in agricultural practices, with the ability to manage a herd of 175 cows effectively. This role requires hands-on experience with farm machinery , as well as excellent supervisory skills to lead farm hand helpers.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of cattle farm operations
- Manage livestock care, ensuring proper feeding, breeding health monitoring, and overall animal welfare.
- Operate and maintain farm machinery
- Supervise farm staff, providing training and guidance to ensure efficient work practices.
- Conduct regular inspections of farm and livestock
- Coordinate with suppliers for feed and other necessary materials.
- Maintain accurate records of farm activities, including livestock inventory.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices
Experience
- Proven experience in cattle farm management is required.
- Experience operating farm machinery is necessary.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to supervise a diverse team effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing conditions on the farm.
