SUMMARY
Performs purchasing tasks to insure a sufficient supply of material is on hand to meet delivery schedules. This would include processing orders, work orders, and returns. Compiles information and reports
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Reviews and approves purchase orders. Selects and maintains contact with vendors. Monitors and handles any issues until the purchase order is closed out.
Verifies nomenclature and specifications of purchase requests.
Reviews inventory records or warehouse to determine if material on hand is in sufficient quantity.
Consults catalogs and interviews suppliers to obtain prices and specifications.
Processes purchase order and sends copy to supplier and department originating request.
Compiles records of items purchased or transferred between departments, prices, deliveries, and inventories.
Communicates with suppliers concerning late deliveries and reports findings to all internal stakeholders
Reviews shortages list for production work orders to troubleshoot and report any workflow issues.
Processes purchase orders to subcontractors for cable assemblies and board manufacturers.
Processes returns to vendors for O.E.M. material that does not meet specifications.
Reviews material with Quality department to determine return to vendor, rework in house, or use as is.
Obtains an RMA number (return material authorization) from vendor if returning for tracking purposes. If returning for credit, create a debit memo and move ticket to remove from stock. Close out failure report once complete.
Scrap damaged goods via a move ticket, and close failure report
Interfaces with all internal departments on a regular basis.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 2 to 4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
