Job Description: AATG is looking for a highly motivated A&P mechanic with general aviation maintenance experience to work at our location at the Fernandina Beach Municipal Airport. Only applicants with previous general aviation experience will be considered. This position is full time with benefits.
The A&P Mechanic is responsible to perform aircraft maintenance and/or repairs within estimated time in accordance with applicable AATG service guarantees, FAA, and customer standards of quality. This includes organizing his/her work plan in an efficient and resourceful manner. The A&P Mechanic is responsible to work in a safe manner, eliminating waste, and delivering a quality product on time.

Job Duties
- Possess knowledge of the operational and technical problems involved in the administration of aircraft maintenance and inspection programs
- Inspects hydraulic systems, structural repairs, modifications, removal, replacement and reinstallation actions; part fabrication; layouts, templates, etc., inspect for structural integrity, quality and completeness of work.
- Troubleshoot, repair, clean, service, inspect, modify, replace, and/or overhaul aircraft and aircraft systems using approved data to ensure airworthiness.
- Determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components using manufacturer's manuals, service bulleting and applicable publications.
- Performs miscellaneous duties to include aircraft open-up cleaning, lubing of aircraft systems and components.
- Sets-up, trouble shoot, repair, and demonstrate correct usage of shop metal working equipment, hand tools, powered tools, fastener installation tooling and fixtures that are used for aircraft hydraulic/structural maintenance.
- Perform such typical maintenance operations as the removal and replacement of aircraft and powerplant components that require bolting, torquing, adjusting, rigging, and safety wiring to include powerplant, and flight control removal/installation.
- Understand and follow OEM installation manuals and procedures.
- Complete required paperwork following maintenance and installation functions.
- Assist IA with annual inspections and other aircraft maintenance tasks.
- Assist with day-to-day avionics operations.
- Work with little or no supervision and accomplish assignments with little or no rework.

Required Experience
- 3 years of general aviation experience
- Must have own tools and tool box
- Proficient in oral and written English
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Airframe and Powerplant License
- Knowledge and understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations and manufacturer manuals
- Subject to noise in excess of 85 dB
- Be able to bend, stoop, kneel, and/or stand for prolonged periods of time and climb ladders and/or service stands.
- May be exposed to hazardous chemicals and requires the use of all safety equipment.
- Capable of lifting fifty (50) pounds.
Preferred Experience
- Practical experience working on Cessna, Piper, Beech, Cirrus single and multi engine piston and turbine aircraft.
- Avionics/electrical experience a big plus! (Garmin is especially beneficial)
