With a legacy spanning over two decades, we specialize in turnkey solutions that integrate life support systems, FRP tanks, rockwork, theming, waterproofing, and curatorial services. Headquartered in Australia, with operations in the USA, China, and the Philippines, we are the preferred partner for large-scale aquarium projects worldwide.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director, Aquarium Special Works (ASW) Solutions to drive growth and excellence in our ASW division across the Americas, based at our USA office in Houston, Texas.

About the Role

As Director of ASW Solutions, you will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering AAT’s ASW products and services, ensuring seamless integration across our global operations.

Reporting to the leader of AAT Americas, you will be responsible for maximizing our ASW business potential, providing technical support to sales teams, assisting with LSS design projects, overseeing the successful delivery of large-scale LSS contracts, and contributing to the strategic and operational leadership of AAT Americas.

This position requires a balance of technical aquarium expertise, business acumen, and project management proficiency , making it ideal for a leader passionate about innovation and delivering world-class aquatic environments.

Key Responsibilities :

Business Development & Client Engagement

Provide technical and design expertise for Life Support Systems (LSS) and aquarium exhibits.
Work closely with Business Development Managers (BDMs) to develop compelling proposals and secure contracts.
Engage with clients to refine designs and ensure alignment with expectations and AAT SoP’s

Project & Operational Management

Oversee the full lifecycle of ASW projects, from concept through to commissioning and handover.

Act as the key liaison between internal teams, contractors, and clients.

Coordinate global resources and optimize project execution.

Post-Handover Support & Maintenance

Ensure client satisfaction with proactive post-project support.

Oversee spare parts inventory and streamline logistics between global operations.

Leadership & Strategic Growth

Help build and mentor a high-performing team in the USA.

Represent AAT at industry events and trade shows to expand business opportunities.

What We’re Looking For :

Strong expertise in Aquarium Life Support Systems (LSS), FRP tanks, and theming .

Proven leadership experience in managing multidisciplinary teams.

Project management experience in the construction or renovation of public aquariums.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills .

Strong business acumen

Qualifications & Experience :

Bachelor's degree in engineering, marine sciences, business administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

10 years of experience in aquarium special works, construction, or related industries.

Work Environment & Travel :

This role requires travel across the Americas and internationally .

Flexibility to work across multiple time zones and address urgent project needs.

Availability for after-hours project oversight when required.
