What are the responsibilities and job description for the CORPORATE CONTROLS / WELD TECHNICIAN position at Advanced Assembly Products, Inc.?
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance, setup and troubleshoot of robotic and mechanical welding and assembly issues. Applies knowledge in electronics, mechanics, pneumatics, and hydraulics to install, program, troubleshot, repair, maintain and modify robotic electrical components, circuitry, control systems, and machinery.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance, setup and troubleshoot of robotic and mechanical welding and assembly issues. Applies knowledge in electronics, mechanics, pneumatics, and hydraulics to install, program, troubleshot, repair, maintain and modify robotic electrical components, circuitry, control systems, and machinery.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform weld set-ups for robotic welders and resistance welders.
- Troubleshoot to determine robot malfunctions using knowledge of microprocessors, programmable controllers, circuit analysis, electronics, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Troubleshoot all operator and machine concerns.
- Provide technical training as required to machine operators.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement necessary changes.
- Responsible for ensuring all equipment is safe and always fit for operation.
- Maintain records for preventative maintenance and process changes / adjustments.
- Manage spare parts and perishable tooling inventory for department.
- Work on AC and DC systems up to 480 volts. Perform facility maintenance as required.
- Abide by all safety protocols, including all required MIOSHA LO/TO and machine guarding standards.
- Assist with root cause analysis and other problem-solving methods utilized to address internal and external concerns.
- Maintain clean and orderly work environment by participating in daily housekeeping duties.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
- Working knowledge of robotic and PLC controls including reading and programming a must.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Prefer the candidate have a minimum of an associate degree in Robotics Technology, Automation Technology or Weld Technician Certificate.\Candidates with a Welding Technician Certificate will be considered.\A minimum of 3 years of real-world applications in an automotive welding, assembly, stamping environment is preferred.
- Plex experience helpful.
