Part-Time Bookkeeper

AAC is looking for a Bookkeeper for a part-time position (up to 25 hours per week) on-site in Matthews, NC.

This employee will be responsible for all aspects of bookkeeping, including AR/AP, invoicing, and financial record-keeping. The ideal candidate will have strong QuickBooks experience and a keen eye for identifying inefficiencies in financial workflows. They will work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure timely billing, financial accuracy, and process improvements. This role requires someone who can thrive in a blue-collar environment, working with a thick-skinned, no-nonsense team.

DAILY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable
• Handle all invoicing and payment processing
• Prepare and record bank deposits
• Maintain cash-on-hand records and update financial reports
• Compile and consolidate financial metrics and scorecards
• Work with the Operations Manager to ensure accurate and timely billing
• Identify inefficiencies in record-keeping and financial processes
• Recommend workflow improvements and efficiency gains
• Assist in budget preparation and track actuals throughout the year
• Provide insights on tax strategies, including optimal timing for equipment purchases/sales
• Analyze service call metrics vs. profitability to support financial decision-making

REQUIRED SKILLS (RANKED IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Experience with small business bookkeeping
• Understanding of tax strategies and financial planning for equipment purchases/sales
• Previous experience in service-based industries

REQUIRED EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Relevant bookkeeping or accounting experience (certifications are a plus)
• Proficiency in QuickBooks (certification preferred)
