AAC is looking for a Power BI Developer for a position working onsite/hybrid (75% remote) for our client located in Columbia, SC.
Scope Of the Project:
Microsoft Power BI Developer to support data visualization and reporting needs within the Client.
Daily Duties / Responsibilities:
- Data Modeling and Transformation: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Build and maintain data models within Power BI using DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and Power Query.
- Report Development: Design, develop, and publish interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI. Ensure reports are user-friendly and meet business requirements.
- Data Integration: Connect Power BI to various data sources, including databases, APIs, and flat files. Perform data cleansing and transformation to prepare data for analysis.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize dashboard performance and responsiveness. Implement best practices for data visualization and reporting.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with business stakeholders, data analysts, and other stakeholders to understand reporting needs. Provide training and support to end-users and ITS on using Power BI.
- Documentation: Maintain documentation of Power BI solutions, including data models, reports, and business logic. Create user guides and training materials for stakeholders.
- Develop technical documentation following Client policies, CJIS security guidance, and state security standards.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Address any Power BI reports and dashboards issues. Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing Power BI solutions.
- Facilitate ongoing knowledge sharing sessions with IT Team
- Supports and adheres to change management process
Required Skills:
- Power BI Expertise: Proficient in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service for report creation and publishing. Experience embedding Power BI in custom applications.
- Experienced in Power Apps, Power Platform, and Dynamics 365 Apps
- Skilled with SharePoint, Stream, and Teams
- Data Modeling: Strong understanding of data modeling concepts and experience in building complex data models.
- DAX Proficiency: Ability to write advanced DAX queries for calculations and data manipulation.
- SQL Skills: Proficient in SQL for querying and extracting data from relational databases.
- Data Visualization: Strong skills in creating engaging and effective visualizations that communicate data insights clearly.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration and ability to communicate directly with the IT team, business employees, and vendor partners.
Preferred Sills:
- Familiarity with ETL (extract, transform, load) tools such as Azure Data Factory or SSIS.
- Knowledge of Azure Services
- Familiarity with business intelligence methodologies and best practices.
- Experience with .NET and C#
- Experience with IBM SPSS
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in computer science, information technology, data science, or a related field. Or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Certifications:
- Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Scientist Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
- Power Bi Certification (From Recognized Institutions)
