AAC is seeking a Telecommunication Engineer with an understanding of Microsoft Solutions for our client working a hybrid / remote schedule in Arlington VA. The Telecom Engineer will work with a team to design, implement, and optimize Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) systems while leveraging advanced Microsoft technologies including Microsoft Teams. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- This position requires some on-site work in Arlington, VA.
- This role requires the ability to obtain a clearance.
Responsibilities :
Consult the design, deployment, and support of VoIP systems, ensuring robust, scalable, and secure solutionsSupport Configuration, management, and optimization of Microsoft-based UC platform Microsoft Teams VoiceSupport Integration of VoIP systems with existing infrastructure, including Active Directory, Exchange, and Office 365Analyze business requirements and develop technical solutions to meet organizational communication needsTroubleshoot and resolve complex VoIP-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and high service qualityDevelop and maintain detailed documentation, including network diagrams, configuration files, and process workflowsStay updated on VoIP and Microsoft technology trends, recommending innovative solutions to improve communication systemsCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including network, security, and IT operations, to ensure seamless integration and optimal performancePerform capacity planning, monitoring, and performance tuning of VoIP systemsTrain and mentor team members on VoIP and Microsoft technologiesRequired Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experienceMinimum 3 years of experience in Telecommunication or Information TechnologyExperience deploying new solutions in a large enterprise environment (5000-10,000 users)Understanding or ability to learn Microsoft Unified Communications platforms, including Microsoft Teams Voice and Skype for BusinessStrong knowledge of Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP), and QoS for VoIP applicationsProficiency in troubleshooting VoIP call quality and connectivity issues using tools like Wireshark and other packet analyzersSolid understanding of networking principles, including VLANs, NAT, firewalls, and SBCsExceptional analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiencesPreferred Qualifications :
Master's degree in a related fieldExperience with hybrid cloud and on-premises VoIP environmentsKnowledge of regulatory requirements, such as E911 compliance and VoIP security standardsFamiliarity with PowerShell scripting for automation and configuration of Microsoft UC platformsCertification(s) such as Microsoft Certified : Teams Voice Engineer Expert, CCNP Collaboration, or equivalentExperience with call center or contact center solutions and integrationsExperience with enterprise-grade VoIP equipment, such as Cisco, Avaya, or similar systemsCompany Description
