Cochlear Implant Consumer Specialist

What you’ll do:
The Cochlear Implant Consumer Specialist is responsible for affecting consumer device choice. They positively influence device choice through interaction with candidates; selecting, training, managing, and retaining mentors; and creating a Bionic Ear Association presence in the regions.

Consumer sales
Identify market opportunities for the promotion of the AB brand directly to consumers in order to generate sales.
Through careful interaction with people who are inquiring about cochlear implants and strategic use of the consumer sales process, counsel and lead these people to select AB as their product choice.
Take part in the planning and execution of consumer webinars and other online events
Independently or collaboratively plan and implement promotion of AB products and services at local, regional, and national consumer-focused conferences and events including, but not limited to, planning the booth, delivering presentations, and staffing exhibit.
Provide weekly on call support for potential candidates who may contact the company in various ways seeking information.
Identify and report consumer complaints in our complaint tracking system.
Timely data entry of sales communications and execution of the sales processes.

Mentor Management
Identify AB recipients that have a desire and the ability to mentor implant candidates through the cochlear implant process.
Manage the ongoing relationship with the mentors and assess the ability of the mentors to handle the various activities.
Collaboratively plan and execute a training program on a national and regional level for new and existing mentors on a regular basis.

Regional Presence
Work with the regional teams to develop a strategy to drive consumer sales in the region. This may include visits to the centers, consumer events, etc.
Organize and implement activities which involve AB Mentors in cities where we stand to increase business by doing so.
Operate within a budget set by company.

What you bring to the team:
Required Education & Work Experience
A master level degreed professional

Work Experience

Experience in implementing sales techniques is preferred
Experience in working with volunteers is a plus.

Personal Competencies
The ability to complete work independently and collaborate on a team
Strong verbal and written communication
Ability to interact courteously and professionally when representing Advanced Bionics on line or in person
Ability to travel up to 50% including frequent overnight travel and weekend travel

Social Competencies:
Ability to persuade others while maintaining integrity and mutual respect
Must work in collaboration with Regional Manager, Area Director, Clinical Specialists, Cochlear Implant Consumer Specialists, Marketing Communications, Technical Services, and Customer Service
Further Requirements

Competency in a second language is useful.
Literate in computer, email, web and phone usage.
