Position Summary
The Operations Director will oversee janitorial operations in the East Bay Area, with a focus on ensuring operational excellence, client satisfaction supporting new account transitions, and driving operational growth in alignment with company goals. This role requires a bilingual professional (English and Spanish) with extensive union experience and a proven track record in managing janitorial operations. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, strong client relationship management, and a deep understanding of unionized labor environments.
Key Responsibilities

Operational Management:
- Oversee daily janitorial operations in the Bay Area, ensuring compliance with company standards, contractual obligations, and client expectations.
- Lead the successful onboarding and integration of new accounts, ensuring a smooth transition and alignment with organizational goals.

Team Leadership:
- Recruit, train, and mentor managers, supervisors, and frontline staff to ensure a high-performing and motivated team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and safety across all accounts.

Client Relationship Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing concerns, resolving issues, and maintaining long-term partnerships.
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to ensure client satisfaction and identify areas for improvement.

Union Labor Management:
- Manage union labor relationships, ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements and effective resolution of labor-related issues.

Growth and Strategic Planning:
- Support the companys growth initiatives by assisting with new account transitions and identifying opportunities to expand operations.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop strategies for scaling operations and enhancing service delivery.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure high standards of cleanliness, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Address and resolve service deficiencies promptly and effectively.

Financial Oversight:
- Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring cost control and financial performance.
- Monitor expenses related to labor, supplies, and equipment to ensure profitability.
Qualifications

Education & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 57 years of experience in operations management, with a strong background in janitorial and floor care services.
- Experience with Class A office space and Environmental Services (EVS) is a plus.
- Proven experience managing union labor teams and resolving labor-related issues.

- Strong leadership and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with clients, employees, and senior leadership.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with operational management software is a plus.
