What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dog Trainer position at Advanced Canine Development, LLC?
Advanced Canine Development is currently in search of an enthusiastic and seasoned dog trainer who thrives in a balanced training environment with a strong emphasis on positive reinforcement. We are seeking an individual with prior experience in dog training who is also eager and open to learning our unique approach.
As part of our team, trainers will be responsible for the day-to-day training and care of our board and train and board and maintain dogs. Additionally, a lead trainer will oversee private lessons and consultations throughout the day. Duties include evaluating dogs' temperaments, providing regular progress updates to clients, and educating them on reinforcing good behavior during training. Trainers should also be prepared to address client inquiries regarding training methods, behavioral concerns, boarding logistics, and pricing.
Physical requirements include the ability to handle large dogs (40lbs ), carry kennels, and administer medications. Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with clients, while the capacity to monitor dogs for signs of illness or distress is paramount.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable providing guidance to clients and dogs, possessing a self-motivated attitude and a genuine eagerness to learn and excel in their role. Patience, passion for dog training, and proficiency in various techniques are key attributes for success. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and dog handling skills are also vital as we tailor training methods to suit each individual dog and their owner's needs.
