What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experienced Dog Trainers position at Advanced Canine Development, LLC?
ADVANCED CANINE DEVELOPMENT is a fast growing dog training and behavior modification company. Ideal candidate will be an energetic, out going individual with animal care/training experience that has an understanding of learning theory, training and group dog socialization.
The right person would be comfortable giving clients direction or be willing to learn as he or she will be working with clients and their dogs every day. This person also must be self motivated and excited to learn and succeed.
EXPERIENCE IS A MUST - will be training for Puppy, Basic Obedience, Advanced Obedience, Off Leash, Board and Train, service/therapy dog, Behavior Modification etc. This will be training at our training facility as well as clients homes in the Port Charlotte, FL and surrounding area.
Being a dog trainer is incredibly rewarding but the love of dogs is not nearly enough. You will have to want to teach PEOPLE how to work with their dogs. Proven communication skills, reliability and a drive to learn is important. We work with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments.
Are you working towards certification? Certifications such as Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT) are . A position with us offers hands on experience and skills needed to earn professional certification. We will teach you the people skills, dog skills, and training skills needed, to be a well-rounded dog trainer.
Qualifications:
- Have reliable transportation
- Willing to work evenings and at least one weekend day
- Good client relation skills
- Must be a self starter, able to work alone, hard working and extremely trustworthy
- Some "paperwork" and computer skill is involved for this position.
- Duties Include but not limited to;
- General Kennel tech duties-potty and clean up after dogs, Feed and water, supervise dogs
- Exercise dogs
- Group play supervision
- General cleaning of the kennels and Kennel Room
- Training of board and trains
- Private in home lessons and pick up/drop off dogs
- Taking dogs out for public outings to stores parks etc...
