Job duties include:
- Provide in-home care and support to clients, including elderly individuals, individuals with disabilities, or individuals recovering from illness or injury
- Assisting clients with daily activities, including bathing, dressing, toileting
- Help with medication administration
- Taking vitals, height, and weight
- Meal preparation and feeding clients
- Transporting clients to appointments
- Support for hobbies and social activities
- Light housekeeping, grocery shopping, and other errands
- Provide companionship and engage in social activities with clients
- Monitor and report any changes in client's condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals
Skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects and assist clients with mobility needs
- Knowledge of basic care principles and first aid procedures
- Experience in meal preparation and understanding of dietary requirements
- Familiarity with social work principles and ability to provide emotional support to clients
- Ability to administer medications accurately and safely
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, their families, and healthcare professionals
Understanding of resident rights and ability to advocate for clients' needs
