What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Coordinator position at Advanced Chemical Transport LLC?
Summary
The Logistics Coordinator provides scheduling in order to fulfill the branch’s daily operational needs and requirements. The position reports to the General Manager.
Accountabilities
- Schedule by delegating job requests to Supervisors, Drivers and Technicians as needed
- Resolve scheduling conflicts by working with the Transportation Manager and/or Operations Manager
- Responsible for training and development of Field Technicians
- Review and approve payroll including Requests for Time-Off
- Conduct performance evaluations
- Provide coaching sessions
- Execute disciplinary action as necessary
- Maintain the electronic transportation scheduler system
- Coordinate truck utilization
- Create vehicle utilization reports
- Coordinate equipment pick up for special projects
- Responsible for inventory management including supply ordering and receiving
- Work closely with the Transportation Manager to maintain compliance with DOT Hours of Service (HOS)
- Understand, accept, and support ACT’s core values and ProACTive Safety Program
- Performs additional tasks as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong leadership, and organizational skills with the ability to direct and achieve goals with limited supervision
- Excellent verbal, written, listening, persuasion and interpersonal skills
- Strong team player
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Documentation and reporting skills
- A strong work ethic and positive, supportive attitude. Ability to be a self-starter, manage multiple priorities and manage details
- Strong customer service orientation
- Ability to work extended hours when needed
Education/Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2 – 4 years of industry knowledge and experience
- Commercial Driver’s License (A or B) with Hazmat and Tanker
- Current 40 Hour HAZWOPER
- Inventory maintenance experience is a plus
