What are the responsibilities and job description for the Skills Lab Clinical Supervisor position at Advanced College?
POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the Vocational Nursing Director, the Skills Lab/Clinical Supervisor coordinates clinical learning lab facilities and services in the nursing program. He/she coordinates day to day activities and services of the nursing skills lab, including scheduling, lab set-up, supervision of student use of laboratory supplies and equipment, inventory, requisition, management, and maintenance of lab equipment and supplies, and related duties.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for student clinical education experiences
- Responsible for clinical site placements
- Responsible for student evaluations at clinical sites
- Works with site Clinical Instructors regarding student progress and supervision
- Conducts site visits and assures that student evaluations are being completed
- Provides continuous and ongoing feedback to faculty and staff regarding the skills lab use and inventory of laboratory materials
- Acts as a liaison with the administration, faculty, and students in providing skills lab services to fulfill the needs of the nursing curriculum
- Ensures policies and procedures for the Nursing Skills Labs are administered as determined by the VN Director
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- RN with AA or higher and two years’ experience as a registered nurse within the last 5 years
- LVN with six years’ experience as LVN
- Experience in teaching and/or clinical supervision preferred
- Current, valid California licensure
- BLS/CPR
