We are seeking an experienced Refrigeration Installation Technician to remove, install and set up refrigerated display cases, walk-in coolers, and freezers in grocery store environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial refrigeration installation, including case setting, piping and electrical connections. Startup experience a plus. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced construction setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation & Setup: Install, level, and align refrigerated cases, walk-in coolers, and freezers according to project blueprints and manufacturer specifications.
- Mechanical & Electrical Connections: Run and connect refrigeration piping, drains, and electrical wiring to ensure systems are properly integrated.
- Startup & Testing (preferred): Assist in startup, system charging, and leak detection to ensure proper operation before project completion.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve installation issues, ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards.
- Coordination: Work closely with project managers, electricians, and other trades to complete installations on schedule.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all OSHA and company safety guidelines, including proper handling of refrigerants and electrical components.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installations, materials used, and any issues encountered during the project.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in commercial refrigeration installation, preferably in grocery store environments.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of refrigeration systems, case setting, and electrical connections.
- Certifications: EPA 608 Certification preferred (or ability to obtain). OSHA 10 or 30 is a plus.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment (50 lbs), climb ladders, and work in tight spaces.
- Work Schedule: Willingness to work nights, weekends, and travel as needed for installations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with supermarket refrigeration systems, including parallel racks and glycol systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Basic understanding of HVAC systems.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
