Job Overview:
We are seeking a tech-savvy, highly organized, and experienced Project/Operations Manager to oversee and optimize daily operations, field personnel, material management, job costing, and compliance. This is a salaried, exempt position responsible for leading a team of 10 employees while ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and with the highest quality and safety standards.
The ideal candidate should have strong electrical experience, project management expertise, and be bilingual in English & Spanish.
Key Responsibilities: Field Personnel Management & Training:
- Manage and supervise field crews, ensuring productivity, efficiency, and adherence to ACS standards.
- Train employees on quality installation practices, safety protocols, and industry regulations.
- Coach and mentor team members, fostering a collaborative and professional work environment.
- Oversee hiring, performance evaluations, discipline, and terminations as necessary.
Safety & Compliance:
- Enforce all OSHA, PPE, and company safety regulations.
- Ensure proper use of tools, materials, and safety equipment, including harnesses, gloves, and safety glasses.
- Maintain a clean, hazard-free, and compliant work environment.
- Comfortably work on roofs, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently.
- Ensure compliance with California construction codes, NEC, CEC, and all relevant local regulations.
Project & Electrical Oversight:
- Oversee project coordinators to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting for electrical installations.
- Review and approve electrical work to ensure compliance with NEC, CEC, OSHA, and local codes.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor workmanship, safety, and project progress.
- Ensure all jobs adhere to proper wiring, grounding, conduit runs, and panel configurations.
Material & Inventory Management:
- Oversee, verify, and track all materials used on projects.
- Prevent excess purchases and control material costs.
- Manage inventory levels, warehouse organization, and material returns.
- Work with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely procurement of materials.
Job Costing & Resource Management:
- Review site plans to ensure materials are properly accounted for.
- Manage job costing of materials and minimize material waste.
- Ensure all job-related purchases receive prior approval.
Operations & Technology Integration:
- Maintain an organized and efficient company facility, including warehouse and fleet management.
- Ensure company vehicles and electrical tools are properly maintained.
- Utilize CRM, ERP, and project management software to track job progress and improve efficiency.
- Train staff on new electrical technologies, digital tools, and safety protocols.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in electrical work (solar, commercial, or residential preferred).
- Project management experience in solar, electrical, roofing, or general construction.
- Tech-savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM, ERP, and project tracking software.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Strong knowledge of material procurement, inventory management, and cost control.
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) required.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work on roofs when necessary.
- Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Certifications & Requirements:.
- Solar Enphase Certification (preferred).
- SolarEdge Commercial 3-Phase Certification (preferred).
- Compliance with ACS’s Drug-Free Workplace Policy, which may include pre-employment and random drug testing where legally permitted.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Journeyman or Master Electrician certification is a plus.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
- Experience with solar PV installation, permitting, and interconnection processes.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
