Technical Revit Modeler/BIM Designer (In-Office)
Advanced Consulting Engineers (ACE-P.A.) is a Frederick, MD based structural engineering firm that is growing and seeking a candidate to fill a Technical Modeler/BIM Designer role.
Qualified candidates must possess at least an Associate’s Degree in the Construction or Engineering field. If the degree is outside Structural or Civil Engineering or Architecture, two to three years of work experience is required. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills, interest, and knowledge of BIM technologies (specifically Revit), and have an understanding of building construction. Our firm offers a busy yet relaxed working environment with a diverse client base.
This individual will collaborate with project teams on structural engineering initiatives and will be accountable to assist in the creation of structural engineering construction documents and shop drawings for our clients utilizing BIM modeling software. All work will be conducted under the supervision of the Project Manager. The candidate is responsible for assisting project teams in creating high-level project drawings and models and must communicate effectively with design team members and clients. This individual should have strong communication and coordination skills, be self-motivated and detail oriented, and possess the ability to deliver high quality, technically accurate structural drawings.
Responsibilities:
· Create 3-D models for use in structural construction documentation
· Document and annotate 2-D plans, sections, and details generated from 3-D models
· Coordinate models and workflow between members of the design team
· Support project teams in creating high-level project drawings & models
· Contribute to project-specific QA/QC efforts
Requirements and Qualifications:
· Minimum of Associate’s degree in relevant Construction/Engineering related field (CAD or Drafting Technology)
· If the candidate’s degree is outside of Structural/Civil Engineering or Architecture, a minimum of 2 to 3 years of work experience is required
· Goal-Oriented and driven to improve
· Knowledge and experience in the use of Revit is required
· Knowledge of Revit Family creation/maintenance is a plus
· Understanding of basic engineering/construction principles
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to read and understand engineering and architectural drawings
· Knowledge of other products in Autodesk Portfolio is beneficial
Compensation: Competitive salary – commensurate with directly related experience.
