ADV will provide personnel security support services for the Naval Reactors (NR) Personnel Security Office (PSO) within the Department of Energy (DOE). This mission-critical effort ensures the protection and processing of security clearances for personnel supporting the Nuclear Navy. The Personnel Security Office (PSO) manages security clearance programs for over 18,000 contractors and federal employees, ensuring compliance with DOE regulations, policies, and safeguards.
Location: Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory (KAPL), 2401 River Rd, Niskayuna, NY 12309.
Clearance Required: DOE - Q (Secret RD)
Personnel security services are performed at Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory (KAPL) during the following hours:
- Onsite Only , All work must be performed onsite at KAPL due to security requirements
- Monday – Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (core hours), Vault Operations: 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
We are seeking a Team Lead for this effort!
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as the single point of contact with the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR).
- Oversee personnel, task execution, and program deliverables.
- Manage security clearance processing, document control, and security program execution.
- Ensure compliance with DOE/NR security policies, regulations, and directives.
- Develop and maintain desktop references and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Conduct personnel development and training for administrative and security personnel.
- Report performance metrics and status updates to NR leadership.
- Ensure vault operations and classified document control are conducted in accordance with DOE security protocols.
Qualifications:
- Active DOE Q (Secret RD) Clearance required.
- Experience managing security clearance processing and personnel security operations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Familiarity with DOE O 472.2A, Personnel Security, and federal security clearance adjudication policies.
- Proficiency in handling DCSA National Background Investigation Services (NBIS) Electronic Application (eAPP) and related security clearance systems.
The annual salary range for this position is $68,500 – $77,000, which aligns with the salary band for this job classification. Compensation decisions are based on various factors, including but not limited to skill set, experience, training, security clearances, licensure, certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
