SUMMARY
As part of the Accounts Receivable team, you will support the Revenue Cycle Department in ensuring insurance claims have been processed and paid in a timely and effective manner while maintaining accuracy and productivity levels. We are committed to supporting our medical providers with medical billing knowledge and patients with care and compassion! You must have AR knowledge and experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Review billing reports and confirmations, tracking daily claims activity
Analyze denials, working to resolve any issues and appeal determinations when needed; flag accounts as appropriate
Initiate and work up refund requests for overpayments
Answer patient questions on plan issues as needed
Follow guidelines of assigned plans concerning pre-certification requirements and procedures for filing and appealing claims
Monitor and immediately report to management any claim submission problems
May perform duties or special projects as required or as assigned by management
EDUCATION REQUIRED
High school diploma or GED
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
One year (two years preferred) of experience in a medical billing office with experience in insurance, managed care, Medicare, and Medicaid.
Computer experience relating to business office functions, as well as Microsoft Office Suite programs.
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to manage time efficiently, prioritize, multi-task, and adapt to change
Ability to practice confidentiality and follow HIPAA regulations with patient information
Ability to practice professional ethics and use discretion concerning ADCS directives and proprietary information/trade secrets of the organization
Ability to recognize a problem and effectively problem-solve, using guidance from management when appropriate
Ability to maintain high level of accuracy in all documentation and in the performance of all job duties
Skilled in using computers; skilled in typing/keyboarding with typing speed of 25 wpm or greater, preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to use appropriately, preferred
Ability to deal effectively and professionally with outside vendors and insurance representatives
