Sr. Electrical Engineer - Power Supplies

POSITION SUMMARY :Performs engineering work in applied research, design, development, and documentation on multiple key projects. Uses research techniques to analyze and validate design or theory concepts. Interacts with senior level professionals both internal and external to AE.
RESPONSIBILITIES :Designs and analyzes AC-DC and DC-DC high voltage module products and subsystems / circuits primarily up to 60kV and 500W to specification, cost, budget, schedule, and quality goalsDiagnoses issues of diverse scope with design, field performance, reliability and test yields of products and recommends and implements corrective actions to addressAssumes responsibility for the success of the product in customers applications and recommends corrective actions as neededFollows key engineering procedures including the Product Development Process and ECO processWORK ENVIRONMENT :Location : Ronkonkoma, NYOffice environment utilizing standard office equipment and engineering lab equipmentMay be required to travel up to 10% of the time including international and / or domestic travel to remote sites, customers, and vendorsQUALIFICATIONS :Knowledge of operational amplifiersFamiliarity with power suppliesKnowledge of analog circuit designFirmware experience is a plusAbility to demonstrate good judgement in selecting methods and techniques to obtain solutionsProven professional skills as an experienced electrical engineer with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies / proceduresAbility to work under minimal supervision with general instructions on new assignmentsAbility to solve complex technical problems independentlyAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyGood interpersonal skills to work as part of a teamGood verbal and written communication skillsAbility to influence and negotiate with others in complex situationsEXPERIENCE :Minimum of five years of experience as an electrical engineerExperience identifying and selecting safety-critical components related to engineering change order activitiesEDUCATION :B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering is requiredCOMPENSATION :As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $120,000 to $130,000 per year._
