We are currently looking for a dedicated full-time candidate to perform Sample Receiving Services for our Lake Placid, FL lab located at 125 Tower St., Lake Placid, FL 33852.
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 08:00 am – 5:00 pm
Experience: None required. Prior analytical laboratory, FDEP field sampling, and/or courier experience preferred
Requirement: Good Driving Record; Valid Driver’s License
Rate: $16 - $19 p/h (based on experience)

Position Description:
The courier/sample receiving responsibility is to maintain a reputable and timely delivery service for our customers and exceed their expectations. This position is responsible for daily pick-up and delivery of samples and kits from our customers and their project locations in the surrounding Fort Myers area. Check in and unpack samples upon receipt and process all received jobs through our Laboratory Information Management System database.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promptly respond to requests to pick up or deliver samples or supplies
- Complete documentation for accurate record of travel and client visits
- Maintain vehicle in clean and safe condition
- Obey all driving rules
- Plan trips for effective use of time to meet client needs
- Update management on maintenance needs for vehicle
- Provide courteous service to clients
- Liaison between client and lab staff
- Follow all company policies related to safe company vehicle operation
- Track mileage and gasoline in notes
- Review and completion of Chain of Custody documentation
- Verify preservation and sample receipt condition
- Sample login to LIMS
- Distribution of samples to lab areas and storage
- Sample disposal according to procedures
- Inventory of supplies for sample kits
- Tracking of coolers
- Cleaning and decontamination of coolers
- Communication with client services and project managers regarding sample receipt issues
- Coordinates shipments to sub-labs and sister labs
- Field sampling assistance as needed
- Laboratory Analytical assistance as needed
- Maintain clean and organized work area
- Represents AEL is a positive way through daily interaction with internal and external clients
Requirements to be considered:
- Must have a neat, clean appearance and a customer-friendly personality
- Must be a motivated worker willing lend a hand to others
- Requires excellent verbal communication skills
- Requires attention to details and good documentation skills
- Must be detail oriented with the ability to speak, read, and write English fluently and have the ability to follow complex instructions
- Must be able to lift 55 pounds
- Must be willing to work weekends and overtime as needed
