About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and knowledgeable SWPPP (Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan) Inspector to join our team. In this role, you will inspect construction sites to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal stormwater regulations then prepare a form-driven report to e-mail to the customer. The ideal candidate has experience in construction, erosion and sediment control, and environmental inspections, along with strong communication skills to collaborate with contractors, developers, and regulatory agencies. In this role candidates should be comfortable spending time outdoors, driving, and with office-based tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine SWPPP inspections at construction sites to verify compliance with stormwater regulations.
- Identify, document, and ensure the proper installation and maintenance of stormwater control measures (BMPs).
- Prepare and submit detailed inspection reports, including photos and recommendations for corrective actions.
- Communicate findings and compliance requirements to project managers, contractors, and key stakeholders.
- Provide guidance on stormwater best management practices (BMPs) and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in developing and maintaining SWPPP documentation.
- Ensure proper implementation of erosion and sediment control measures.
- Stay up to date on industry regulations and best practices related to stormwater management.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail with good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and navigate different types of terrain during all stages of construction.
- Valid driver’s license.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in stormwater compliance, environmental inspections, or construction.
- Knowledge of state and federal stormwater regulations.
- SWPPP certification (e.g., CESSWI, CPESC, KDOT CSW) or ability to obtain certification.
- College degree in environmental science, construction management, or a related field.
Starting Pay Scale for people with no experience: 46K to 51K/yr. depending on skills & abilities. Job includes a company vehicle, cell phone, and drone for work purposes.
Starting Pay Scale for people with experience is negotiable but > 51K/yr. depending on skills & abilities and experience.
