What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Inspector position at Advanced Exhaust Solutions?
Job Summary:
The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting components and manufactured parts to determine conformance with company and customer requirements. This role plays a critical part in identifying and reporting defects, ensuring only the highest quality parts are delivered. AES is hiring two quality inspectors. One for our 1st shift, and one for our 2nd shift. The 2nd shift position will receive a 10% shift differential in hourly pay.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to verify part specifications and tolerances.
- Inspect and measure parts using calipers, micrometers, welding gauges, and other precision tools.
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections on received materials, in-process components, and final products.
- Document inspection results, complete reports, and maintain records in accordance with quality standards.
- Identify and communicate non-conformances and work with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions.
- Provide feedback and suggestions for improving quality processes.
- Adhere to safety and compliance standards in all work activities.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
- Experience with quality inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and weld gauges.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and analytical thinking.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in welding or performing weld inspections.
- Understanding of welding standards and procedures.
- Certification in AWS CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) is a plus.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience in an ISO 9001, AS9100, or ISO 13485 certified manufacturing environment.
- Prior exposure to auditing and inspection techniques.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally as part of job duties.
- May involve extended periods of standing, walking, bending, or stooping.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate tools, equipment, or computers.
Work Environment:

- While working independently on inspections, you will also collaborate closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to maintain product integrity.
- The work environment includes exposure to moderate noise levels, machinery, and temperature variations typical of a manufacturing facility.
