What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scheduling Coordinator position at Advanced Eye Care?
Responsibilities:
- Answer and manage incoming calls on a multi-line phone system
- Schedule and confirm appointments for patients
- Coordinate patient referrals to specialists as needed
- Maintain and update patient records in electronic medical records system
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and address their inquiries or concerns
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and scanning documents
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in an office or medical setting preferred
- Familiarity with medical terminology and dental procedures is a plus
- Proficiency in using dental software such as Dentrix or similar systems
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues
- Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in patient services is beneficial
