The function of the Level 2 Fire Alarm Service Technician is to aid in the repair, renovation and maintenance of all fire alarm types and low voltage systems to include intermediate field coordination, planning, and expediting of service orders and communication of job status to key AFPS staff.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Repair, renovate and maintain all fire alarm types in a timely and efficient manner
- Repair, renovate and maintain any/all low voltage systems as directed
- Load and handle materials and equipment
- Maintain company vehicles to ensure appropriate working order and appearance
- Complete daily reports and any other required paperwork
- Ensure safety conditions at all time to include but not limited to the use of protective equipment (safety glasses, masks, gloves, etc.)
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with all employees of AFPS, as well as customers, other vendors and prospective customers
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with not less than 75% supervision
- All other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, ETC:
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to be insured on company automobile insurance
- Acceptable background check and drug screening
- FASA and BASA certification
- One year in related fire protection industry or three years’ experience in similar industry
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to calculate and prepare battery load calculations, basic algebra, spacing requirements and material take offs
- Intermediate knowledge of fire and building codes, OSHA and other regulations pertaining to the job
- EST experience a plus
- Intermediate knowledge of fire sprinkler systems, fire pumps, and alarm panels
- Intermediate computer and software skills
- Ability to interact with customers in a professional manner
- The ability to communicate in English
