Full Job description
Advanced Hand Therapy is a one-of-a-kind independently owned outpatient rehab clinic specializing in treatments of the entire upper extremity. We are looking for a committed and patient focused certified occupational therapy assistant (COTA/L) to assist with the development, maintenance, and recovery of patient care. This job will entail one on one treatment time with patients emphasizing myofascial release, strength training, and a holistic understanding of each individual patient's needs and goals. On the job training is provided.
Responsibilities:
● Address client's aspects of performance to support engagement in occupations that
affect health, well-being and life quality
● Follow the treatment plan and structured goals set up by the certified hand therapist
and any providers.
● Provide hands-on therapy techniques, including trigger point therapy, to alleviate pain
and improve mobility
● Apply interventions and strength training to maximize safety and performance in
activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL)
● Teach clients new ways of approaching tasks and educate them on how to break
down activities into achievable components
● Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
● Observe, note, and report on progress of long- and short-term treatment goals
● Collect data and document adaptations to treatment plans
● Stay up-to-date with the latest research and advancements in the field
