Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive care to patients 12 years old to end of life, focusing on health promotion, disease prevention, and management of acute and chronic illnesses. As an FNP, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality healthcare services while collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide primary care to patients of all ages, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and seniors
- Perform comprehensive physical examinations and health assessments including breast exams and pap smears.
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses
- Prescribe medications and treatments
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests
- Develop and implement care plans for patients with chronic conditions
- Educate patients on disease prevention and health promotion
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Provide counseling on family planning and reproductive health
- Able to provide CPT codes and ICD-9 codes needed for billing of visits.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nursing with a focus on Family Nurse Practitioner program from an accredited institution.
- Current Florida State licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Strong clinical skills with experience working with patients 12 years old to end of life in primary care setting.
- Proficiency in medical documentation and familiarity with electronic health record systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with patients and families.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team while demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of family planning methods and counseling techniques.
- Understanding of durable medical equipment (DME) usage and management
- Proficiency in psychopharmacology for mental health treatment
- Ability to work with patients with developmental disabilities or special needs.
- Knowledge of ophthalmology procedures and assessments
- Experience in memory care for elderly patients.
