Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will support the procurement process by assisting with sourcing, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships. This role is essential in ensuring that materials and supplies are procured efficiently to meet the operational needs of the organization.
Duties
- Assist in sourcing materials and supplies from various vendors to meet company requirements.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier information using systems such as QuickBooks, SOS, ERPs
- Collaborate with the materials management team to ensure timely delivery of goods and resolve any supply chain issues.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in forecasting future procurement needs.
- Support the purchasing department in evaluating supplier performance and conducting regular audits.
- Prepare reports on purchasing activities and assist in budget management for procurement.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement role is preferred.
- Familiarity with sourcing strategies and contract negotiation techniques.
- Proficiency in materials management systems; experience with QuickBooks, SOS, or ERP is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate record keeping.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with suppliers and internal teams.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- A degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is advantageous but not required.
